The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks explores medicine, genetics, ethics, and race in the story of a black woman tobacco farmer whose 1951 cell line was used—and still is—by scientists researching disease, cloning, and genetics—a fact unknown to her family until 1975. Join the Institute for Public Health Genetics at the UW School of Public Health for a screening of the film followed by a panel of UW experts "using an interdisciplinary approach to improve population health."
