Disaster Book Club: Wave

Seattle Public Library, Broadview Branch (map) North Seattle
Wed., Sept. 20, 6 p.m. 2017

Free

The Seattle Office of Emergency Management's book club seeks to inform the public about local emergency preparedness through readings. This month's selection is Sonali Deraniyagala's terrifying true story called Wave, which details how she survived the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami in South Asia that killed her family. They'll also be screening After the Wave, a documentary on the catastrophe that may be distressing to some viewers.
