Pigott Auditorium at Seattle University (map) Capitol Hill
Sat., Oct. 7, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. 2017

$80

"Water served as the root metaphor for some of the most important ideas in early Chinese thought, including Dao ('way') and Qi ('vital energy'). Water is described as the source of the sky and the earth in a 4th-century BCE bamboo-slip manuscript. In this talk, Professor Allan will discuss the relationship between the natural world and the formation of cosmological and philosophical ideas in ancient China." (Promo Copy)
