I was kind of expecting this.

I actually thought the first Pirates movie was pretty good. I thought Johnny Depp did a good job creating a unique, fun and enjoyable character. But every sequel has been utterly soulless and forgettable, and his fey drunk pirate schtick has become tired. Even the trailer for this one looked bored with itself.

Pass.

I came in here to say this too, #1. Glad I wasn't the only one who got that impression

My guess is that Disney CEO Michael Eisner is yet again lusting after record profits, baby.
