I agree that this film is important. While watching it, I felt like I was seeing something that mattered far beyond the star-studded cast. The stylistic approach by the director was truly unique. The acting was excellent. And the topic was something that people need to know. The combo of all of these aspects made this my favorite film of the year, and I'm a mega Star Wars fan, so that's saying something. I hope it wins the Oscar, even though it won't.
Didn't they get rich like everyone does? I've never read where they are credited with exposing a "Scandal". They got rich like banks did. That's not important to me.
Then again, perhaps Hollywood chose to make a movie out of this book because the last twotimes Hollywood made movies based on books by this author, they were huge commercial and critical successes?
Here's the best explanation EVER of CDOs, in one sentence: "All of those strangers will want me dead. Meaning, they would be shorting my life." Thank you Charles for pointing out lessons that should have been learned from the crash of 2008. Sadly, people need to get a tight grip on their ankles, because the global economy is on the cusp of getting fucked over again. That's what happens to people who refuse to learn from history.
