The Lesbionic Final Days of Marie Antoinette

What is wrong with Sidonie (the young servant), she is in a room with Paolo the hottest guy at Versailles and he wants to consummate a friendship with her and yet she runs off and abandons him to run off to list off a few titles the Queen may want to read. Ugh. That may be the biggest tragedy of the picture.

Walking the halls of Versailles is breathtaking in person and even better would have been to have been in this cast, in those outfits, in those very halls bringing this picture to life. The lesbian angle was certainly very interesting and I've had a crush on Virginie Ledoyen since her turn as Cosette in the French TV miniseries of Les Miserables that aired in 2000. I enjoy all of her films as she has such a unique French sensuality - that she is perfect for this role. I'm thrilled I didn't have to live in this time period to have to participate in the court and all the fake relationships - but than again - modern day relationships do take a turn with such fakery - especially in the gay community. See the flick in theaters if you are a die hard French cinema fan - otherwise wait for DVD.

I never knew Marie Antoinette was a lesbian toward the end of her life. Are they sure?
