Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Race for the Cure

The Komen Foundation is holding its 20th Annual 5K Sound Race for the Cure to raise funds and awareness, celebrate survivors and honor those who have lost their battle to breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of the money raised at the Race will stay in Puget Sound to fund screenings, education, and treatment support, Komen says. The remaining twenty-five percent will fund global research to better diagnose, treat, and ultimately cure breast cancer. Registration and more info here. Prices vary.

Social Justice Panel and Workshop at the Vera Project Come join in for all three parts of this panel and workshop series at the Vera. The first panel, Art and Activism, will include local artists discussing how they view art as a catalyst for activism. The second event is titled "Seattle Style Racism and Cultural Differences," and the last is "Sharing Our Stories of Power, Privilege, and Oppression." All three of these are the third Thursday of the month, starting on March 21st. You may bring food in lieu of the entrance fee! $0 to $10.

Proud and Partying. Pride Fest stands as the largest free Pride Festival in America and opens at Seattle Center from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The parade starts at 11: a.m. Sunday from Westlake Center and continues down to Fourth Avenue to Seattle Center. Enjoy DJs, beer, food, vendors, non-profit activism under the shadow of the Space Needle. Stay tuned for updates.

Guided Eco-Hike in the West Duwamish Greenbelt

Join the Nature Consortium every third Friday of the month for a free, public, guided hike through the West Duwamish Greenbelt, the largest forest remaining in Seattle.
