@39: I appreciate your input. I think though that logic dictates that an unplanned pregnancy can be for some couples an unwanted pregnancy. The difference is not that great.
For those who believe that abortion is totally out of the question (by the state or by their own disposition) then the choice is clear to carry the baby to term and to rejoice on the blessings of one of life's unexpected turns.
For those that consider abortion (because of rape, incest, health, economics, no partner, or whatever reason) the choice stands as the woman's and the woman's alone. I've never been against that. But I will be the first to advise that it takes a lot of effort, except in the obvious cases, to justify having an abortion in any sense of spiritual or philosophical context. That emotional baggage is also a factor to consider for the woman.
Again, I'm not against choice but as one ages we are generally haunted by the "if only" thoughts. It's best to make those "if only"'s into realities as far as bringing life into the world.
