Bloomberg the Social Engineer Goes After Teen Pregnancy.
The actual problem is poverty. There are social programs available to help a teen with her infant, but those are not available to women in their twenties. For a poor woman who wants to have a child, it does make a certain amount of sense to have those children when they can get some social assistance to help bring them up. If the U.S. had better maternity assistance programs, including paid maternity leave, I think you would see birth rates among women in their twenties and thirties increase. Nobody really wants to have children in her forties. It's a sad comment on American society that a woman can't afford to have a baby until she's in her forties.

"Why does he have boobs?".
Nobody was rude to her, nobody was even unkind. They acted out of ignorance, not malice. It's important to distinguish between offense intended and offense taken. While she took offense at what they did, nobody deliberately tried to offend her.
My own partner is a very butch woman. She is not infrequently mistaken for a man. She is invariably kind and goodnatured every time it happens. For us, her being mistaken for a man means that she is exactly the kind of woman I like, and exactly the kind of woman she is. It's a good thing, not a cause for distress.

A Theory of White Native Americans.
I don't think it's any more odd to note that I'm part Cherokee than that I'm part Swedish or Scottish. People who think you have to look a certain way in order to be considered Aboriginal don't know a lot about modern life among Aboriginal people.

President Obama's Gun Control Proposals.
I find it interesting that the gun nuts object to the term "gun nut". Anyone can call me a book nut, a computer nut, or a dog nut, and I would agree (with a smile, no less). I'm not defensive about any of those things. If you genuinely believe that guns are such good things, why the distress over being associated with them?
