So surreal, too, to see buildings and businesses you've known, a street, a neighborhood you've lived in, known and hung out in off & on for most of your life plastered all over the news like this.

3 confirmed dead, and many of the injured and mangled are kids. They were fucking cheering people on - some of whom were running for charities.
Just a sick, sick day. So hurting for the people whose lives and bodies have been decimated by this. They woke up this morning, all of them, looking forward to this day.

The other thing about this is ... Boston, and Massachusetts, do so many goddamn things RIGHT. In every measurable way, quality of health, test scores, low divorce rates, etc., Mass. is a wild success, almost always leading, or nearly leading the nation. Which is why it's so ironic, and shitty, how the right, including Mitt Romney - when he was governor - shit and shat on "those uppity elites" "those silly liberals", and dismisses us, when THEY are the fuckups ... Hello? Alabama? Mississippi? Utah?

This is sickening to me personally because I have family and so many ties, still, to good old Boston, and once worked right in Copley Square, just a block from the marathon finish line, and lived about a mile from there for years back in the day. Copley was my stomping ground. Sickening.

Ya, I would agree - she has been with this dude since age 18? For four solid years starting at only 18? They need to both experiment with other people. Teen years are NOT the settling down years for god's sake - and as she said, if boredom is already striking, it's time to let it go.
