commented on FBI: Trump "Associates" Communicated With Russian Operatives
I know I've seen this movie... What was it called again? The Micturition Candidate?
Seriously though, this is so completely fucked up. Because even if he is impeached, the Republican party has been rewarded for colluding with a foreign authoritarian government. I mean, what's our best case scenario here? President Pence?

@ raindrop - I asked because you said "an army of committed patriots needs to be going throughout Trumpland, knocking on doors, going to local cafes and creating dialog."
I wanted to know if you've ever had any success with that in a red state. And if you have, I want to know what you said that changed their minds. What do you say to someone who says, in all seriousness, that "Obama is the leader of ISIS" to make him stop believing that?
I've tried, and I've gotten nowhere.

@ Fichu - That would work really well. "These things are within the realm of healthy human sexuality. These things are not. These things are a sign that you should seek medical attention. These things are not."
And the "when to seek medical attention" discussion could be part of a more involved discussion about biology. I grew up during the 90's when schools were freaking out about HIV and before the "abstinence only" monster really got its teeth into our educational system, but I still learned about the clitoris from the South Park movie. That is profoundly messed up. If we taught sexual biology rather than just reproductive biology plus microbiology-is-scary, we would be able to introduce sexual pleasure into the discussion without being creepy: "this is a bundle of nerves" vs "here's what you can do with this bundle of nerves."
commented on And Now for the Annual Seattleites Can't Drive in Snow Film Festival
@ 4 - The reason folks back east aren't driving on an ice rink is that the roads are made using pervious concrete, at least in our part of New York. The slush created by cars never gets the chance to freeze into a solid sheet of ice because it just drains away. It's really cool.
Also, yes. Ice is much more difficult to drive on than snow. And icy hills are the worst.
Stay safe out there, you guys!
