"Kevin Klinkenberg, an architect and urban planner, states that around 35,000 people are killed in car accidents annually." .. What?! Not even close. Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day. An additional 20-50 million are injured or disabled. More than half of all road traffic deaths occur among young adults ages 15-44.

With her condescending body language, Hillary looks like she is being yelled at by her high school principal. Her clueless answer is "you all need to get with it, and tell me how to 'sell' your needs to politicians." If she REALLY understood how people of color are treated and the systemic, abusive laws inherent in the system, some of which she helped establish; she would know as a politician - it's HER job to 'sell' the honest and fair laws to those who would disagree. When he asked "what in your heart has changed?", Hillary just gives that blank stare, head nod, "uhh Hmm.." that says 'I'm trying to think of something to say" so her handlers step in and interrupt. She doesn't seem to see it as a "what can WE do" but still more of a "what do you want me to do about YOUR problem?"

Once I took my out of town guests to Ride The Ducks at their request. The guide was an ass. Just incredibly disrespectful to the people living on the route. At one point he lowered the music (as they were required to) and announced
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are approaching a noise ordinance area where *I* have to remain quiet out of respect to our local Seattle residents, but I can't stop *YOU Party Animals* from enjoying yourselves!"
So yeah, the music was turned down but the people had intentionally been turned UP. Seemingly out of spite .. I just wanted to smack the guy upside the head and tell him "Why do you think everyone here hates you!? Because of THIS shit... This petty, intentionally pointed use of your captive audience to provoke and antagonize. You embarrass yourself and bring resentment on your employer. Why? Is it just the slight chance that you may get a bigger tip if you are viewed as the cool-uncle-that-lets-us-yell?"

@4 well, I suppose you would have ask Anna Minard why it's *here* - but I took the photo with an eye to the surreal. I found it odd to see a glossy pair of mismatched yet seemingly intact, large high heels next to a bus stop. They felt placed there as art more than trash. I'm not saying they *are* art.. just that the vibrant color pop on the grey street was art to me.
