Gaytheists.
@35 - Strident, loud, or annoying atheists are absolutely, 100% not the reason Christians give you a hard time for being an atheist. Have you not been listening to them at all? Granted, there's no good reason to listen to their bullshit, but I would think you might have done so politely once or twice.
Out and Proud Atheists are a very recent development. Christian contempt for Atheism is not. Christians who give you shit for being an atheist don't do it because they think you're an asshole (They're assholes, remember? They love assholes). They give you shit because they think that you are choosing to not believe in God. Like, they think it's totally self evident that God exists, and you're just plugging your ears and screaming so that you can be a hipster secularist. That's exactly what they think.

Should All City Coffee Have Fired the Bitter Barista?.
Using company time is probably the worst argument possible for this. It's a good thing I spend my full 8 hour shift just thinking about all the tweets I'm going to post, and wait until after I clock out to actually post them.
I'm sorry, did you just go to the bathroom? How did that help us with our profit margins? Sneezing? Not unless your sneeze helps bring in new business.
There is a difference between delaying a customer to call your friends and talk about shoes, and spending a minute or two of downtime thinking about yourself and not the company you work for.

Emerald City Comicon Website Hacked.
@ 21 - There are actually a quite lot of twenty something's. We pretty much make up the world right now.
@18 - I knew they were having server problems, but I've never seen that error message before, and now I've seen it in two different places for purportedly different problems.

The Washington Post Has Developed a Real-Time Lie Detector for Speeches.
Ultimately this will just result in politicians saying less than they already do. Contrary to @3, people in politics don't lie much more than us regular folks do, though when they do, they do it with a whole lot more conviction. The whole art of politics is about saying as little as possible for as long as possible. Think about how hard it was for you to get McKenna to admit to just about any policy position. Think about how little Romney committed to outside of the debates. With each election's debates getting less and less worthwhile, it wouldn't be surprising to see this technology completely obsolete in 2020, when even a question about what specific actions the candidate would take to prevent Florida from being submerged by rising ocean levels will produce only a 9 minute long story about how delicious his grandmother's fresh squeezed orange juice was.

Trenton NJ Gun Buyback Nets More Than 2,500 Guns Over Two Days.
@3 - I don't think these programs are incredibly effective myself, but if we're taking guns out of basements, then we're effectively curtailing some of the guns that end up on the street through robberies and sticky fingered teenagers and such.
@4 - Haha, Goldfucker! Because, he fucks gold! Hahaha.
