commented on Here's the Lecture About Anxiety Disorders I Wish Someone Would Have Given Me When I Was Entering College
This is pretty much why I dropped out.
I was stuck at a low/middle-tier engineering college with >2 years of AP courses as an incoming freshman, and expected to make sense of major requirements and a major choices itself with no real access to counseling, and more or less melted down over the period of eight months. I vaguely recall being told I was on some engineering dean's list coming in, and dropped out with no returned calls or met visits over those months. I hated every minute of it, hated the pasty white douchebags in my choices of majors, except for when I was tutoring other students and running a maths computing lab.
So, thanks for writing this. Hopefully it helps some student from the same fate.
answered a bunch of weird questions about himself or herself.

@1 Let's be clearer: "because you know...they absolutely hate us". Or hate governing. Or hate making poor peoples' lives easier. But not "because Seattle"; that's victim-blaming.
Seriously, this city is sitting on a demographic time-bomb. So many people I know are in or close to a crisis situation WRT living spaces.

@16 With the internet, one can acquire the impression that one understands events without context, as mediated by journalists, and speak on it without reservation (like "from afar, it looks like").
I'm well aware of the perspective that Dan Savage has confirmed here. Just because it's true does not make your commentary valid; bullshit is not lies, but a lack of regard for the truth.
