We showed up without reservations during prime time, just in case. They had one two-top left right by the back door, which meant staff going in and out and letting the cold air in. Unfortunate, but they warned us and we understand why — no big deal. But then they brought us complimentary champagne, and later a complimentary off-menu small plate, and in all ways made us feel so welcome and appreciated. The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional without being stuffy or ingratiating. Avila rocks. As Wallingford hoodies, we are super happy to see another great place to eat in our zone.
