Did You Cry at the Tornado Dog Sweeping the Internet?.
I couldn't shed a tear because I was too busy eye-rolling. Sweet little old lady kept going on and on and on about the good lord answering her prayers...
Next time, pray that your vindictive god doesn't throw crazy fucking tornadoes at your town in the first place.

Senate Democrats Fuck Over Bi-National Gay Couples....
I don't think immigration reform has any chance of passing anyway. It isn't just teh gheys that the democrats have to throw under the bus. To get anything to pass, you need significant republican buy-off in both the house and senate, both of whom are rabidly obstructionist to anything that Obama wants to pass. Any immigration bill that has any chance of getting through both houses of congress would have to be so watered down as to be completely useless. See also healthcare reform, also, too: better than nothing, but ridiculously compromised to get the necessary votes, and that was with a democratic majority.
So, yes, it pisses me off that the spineless democrats once again caved, but in the end I doubt it will make any difference. It probably won't pass no matter what, and if they do find something that will pass, it will probably suck donkey balls.

Spoiled Rotten: Star Trek Into Darkness.
Oh, and I thought the most egregious transporter inconsistency was during the Spock/Khan fight at the end. They couldn't transport Spock and/or Khan OFF the flying machine, cuz it was moving or whatever... but they could transport Uhura ONTO it? Just seconds later? WTF?!
So, yes, the transporters on this new reboot are the most fucked up, unreliable, nonsensical, inconsistent devices ever put into a sci-fi movie. Whether they work or not at any given moment seems to depend entirely on some plot point, and never on any sort of logic or science.

Spoiled Rotten: Star Trek Into Darkness.
Personally, I liked Khan and the homage to the earlier movie. Otherwise, I agree the plot was pretty lame. I thought it was only saved by some great interaction between the actors. I also agree that despite Uhura breaking bad a couple of times, there is no excuse for a modern Star Trek film to fail the Bechdel Test.
That said, Benedict Cumberbatch is the sexiest villain in a long time. Between him and the Kirk/Spock bromance, this movie was very droolworthy. On the whole, I enjoyed the movie despite its plot.

How to Taxidermy a Rat.
Admittedly, I know fuck all about taxidermy, but I'm surprised you cut it down the back/spine. Isn't that hard to sew back up seamlessly? I'd have thought it would be better to cut open the belly, which would probably be more forgiving of a shitty sewing job since we never see it anyway.

Where Was Bobby Jindal When the Grand Jury Refusers Were in Prison?.
Well, sure, targeting specific political orgs for extra scrutiny is messed up, even if I think Tea Partiers are a bunch of lunatics. But criminal?
What laws, specifically, were violated, Bobby? What criminal statutes?
And just what "freedoms" were taken away? From what I've read, not a single one of these groups was actually denied the tax exemption they wanted. They were simply delayed and subject to extra questioning.
The IRS idiots that came up with this plan should be subject to dismissal or retraining. But jail? Don't be absurd.
