The Seattle University "timely notification" email last night was way more interesting than the usual "someone got robbed near 12th and Cherry" emails we get most of the time. Sounds like they were getting ready to evacuate the residence hall that's right by that bus stop when the all clear came.

While people in Sandy's path will be most concerned with staying safe right now, by next week many will be assessing the damage and incredibly grateful for FEMA's emergency loans department...I know we certainly were while assessing earthquake repairs in 2001.

ssmary reviewed Artisan Cafe.
I've been walking past the Artisan Cafe for months now, just overlooking it on my way to the shinier cafes and restaurants down the street a bit. But finally deciding to give it a try, I had an absolutely delicious Vietnamese sandwich and latte for lunch today and am definitely going back! It looks like a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but it's definitely worth checking out!

Nothing can change the fact that you, and your nephew (and, God help us, your parents and family and all the other bigots out there, religious and otherwise) have always been and always will be beloved Children of God.
It's a touchy point, I know, but if you haven't yet it could help to find a faith community that is supportive of you and your nephew. The classic Metropolitan Community Church comes from a Pentecostal tradition, so could feel familiar.
