Eh, use it or don't, If you use it, it will offend people who choose for that word to be offensive. You will probably have to apologize to those people.
People get to choose what offends them, when they make that choice, it's up to you to respect it or ignore it, then it's up to the to react to that. If your friend in this scenario decided that your use and ignoring of their wishes is enough to dissolve the friendship, well then, that's a risk you decide to take.

I mean, I get what they wanted to do here. Tips for a situation where tips are USELESS. But that's the thing, that info is all right there in the victims mind, they are probably freaking out and thinking those thoughts.
So the brochure should expand on that. Surely the army knows where vulnerable and incapacitating parts of a body, they should mention the best way to stab those areas with your keys.
I am 100% ok with the frankness of this type of advice. It's something silly to advise on, because we don't have the know how.
I would love this frank kind of advice on how to spot if your drinking buddy/coworker is a rapist. How to realize that you are a rapist (If that's like a tipping point before becoming one, I gots no clue), how to document a rape when stopping it so that it's easier to "prove". Conversations you can have to find out if someone was raped.
That advice would put men in the seat of the "hero", which they love. Also some anti rape advice for men would drive that message down too.

Also, I don't want to shock you, but did you know that in America dogs are mutilated? Sick fucks actually cut off their testicles because when they have them the dogs may be more rowdy.
