I'm confused as to why the Stranger is lamenting the loss of housing that isn't subsidized, but is under market rent, in Bellevue, but while that was happening in Capitol Hill (we're in the final death throes of it now) it was all about density-density-density.
I agree with the premise that housing needs to be seen as a right, and that affordable housing that isn't Affordable Housing (subsidized) is a critical and disappearing part of cities, but this is as inconsistent as the Stranger's lionizing the destruction of the 500 block of E Pine while championing similar developments that didn't have the foresight to house the Cha Cha Lounge.

The end of this letter got super squicky. Gun ownership + implied threat of retaliation. Gee, I wonder why this chick would choose a less-direct way of getting this guy out of her life?
I appreciate Dan taking the high road in his answer, and hope the LW takes it all to heart.
Also? You're both 22! a six-month relationship is a lifetime at that age.
commented on Savage Love Letter of the Day: New Father Wants a Threesome Right Now
@14 - my first thought was that Dan should answer more letters on his way out the door.
As others have said/asked - were there discussions about threesomes before the pregnancy? Who initiated those conversations (I'm going to go out on a limb here and say him)?
I thought dudes were supposed to wait until about 45 before panicking about not being able to bang hot young things.
commented on Uber Will Stop Operating in Bremerton
Amodeo is full of shit. I'm positive that an annual license of $75 is FAR less (in cost and hassle) than whatever regulations and licensing are required of taxicabs.
Hopefully all the former Uber drivers (at least the ones who are able to overcome the "difficult if not impossible" barrier of a business license, can switch to Lyft.
commented on Taste-Testing the Pies at Capitol Hill's Five New Pizzerias
I am glad that our neighborhood pizza shortage (caused by the temporary closure of Bill's and the permanent loss of Piecora's) is over. I was getting far too accustomed to Pagliacci.
Of those reviewed, I've only gotten pizza from Sizzle so far. Their pizzas don't look that great (I was seriously concerned when I went to pick up my first pizza, seeing all the wan-looking pies sitting out for slices), but they taste good and the crust is *amazing*.
