"Bus service shouldn't be optional—it should be a right.".
@32 $28/hr isn't that much. I know private non-union semi drivers who make around $40. If you want to piss about income and class issues, start at the top, not your fellows in the middle. IOW, EAT THE RICH.
But otherwise to issues in this thread - MVET sucks and I, who ride transit several times a week, would vote against it. Go with gas or something, anything else.
And, yeah, Metro needs to redesign all in-city routes for duplication and common sense.

We Can Do It!.
Huh. I see men in advertising all day long that I, another guy, couldn't live up to. And they are designed to look and be desirable by women. That's not sexism. It might be objectification but that doesn't bug me either.
in the situation, clearly the male image needed to be made. They are both great. They complement each other. But the female image wasn't degrading or objectification or harassing. It was pinup style art for the product they were working on.
Sexism is the fact of the writer being the lone woman on am engineering team.

I'm insensitive. Both images are sexy. Neither is sexist, but yeah, totally complementary to each other.

Out with the Old....
The Chinese destroyed massive amounts of historical structures right in Beijing for the Olympics. While there is certainly a cultural whitewash element in Tibet it isn't nearly as despicable as Western press (whipped up by Tibetan separatists with a big voice here) makes it out to be. Nor is Tibet really singled out, that's the Chinese way everywhere.
And the British in HK weren't any better. The autonomous HKG does it to themselves still basically shoveling up anyone living traditionally into massive New Towns. Nor is the rump state RoC on Taiwan any better to who was there before them. Nor was the RoC on the mainland any better.
These shouldn't be equivocated with the casual wanton destruction in Belize practiced by a capitalist contractor in a country that HAS designated that monument for preservation.

Marriage Equality Scores a Big Win in Minnesota.
SCOTUS is not going to make it legal in all states from the two cases it has now. There are between 20 and 25 states with constitutional amendments blocking it. That will be a lot harder to undo than majority legislatures.
Federal recognition, and forcing interstate recognition, will be big wins for those states that will never do it for themselves.
