The brownies might be delicious, but the proximity to the giant roach picture makes them much less appetizing.

I feel vaguely trolled for having read that.

@10 Hell if I know. I don't even get invited to their cocktail parties. I will say that State gets nicer office furniture, though.

As someone who actually works in international affairs for the US Government, let me just add: foreign policy is fucking HARD. Countries, just like people, can be passive-aggressive, vindictive, send mixed messages, and perhaps even more than people, are inclined to cut off their noses to spite their face. It's often like being back in middle school again, only with more memorandums and the occasional horrific humanitarian disaster. The naivete that Ron Paul displays here is impressive; one of the first things you discover in foreign policy is that many, probably even most, of the decisions we make have significant negative implications (show me 10 situations that appear to be win-win, and I'll show you maybe 1 where no one is glossing over the downsides for their own agenda, or just plain missed the problems). It's sausage making, pure and simple, and the idea that we can avoid the bad stuff... well... it's pretty much par for the course, I guess.

Welcome back, Dr Golob. Not a minute too soon (we've had some troll issues since your departure) but another voice for reason is a wonderful thing. We've missed you.

I just want to note, per the "my scrolling finger is tired" option, that if I could find a way to minimize/hide/get rid of the dozen or so unread music posts about bands no one has heard of on any given day, my scrolling finger wouldn't be tired at all.

@3 that's lovely and amazing that you're able to make it work, even if I feel like I need a diagram just to know who is what to whom. But I'm glad it works for all of you and I hope you can announce equal or greater happiness a decade from now.

@9 please register, if you're so inclined. That was entirely worth reading, and doesn't deserve to be skipped along with the rest of the cesspool of unregistered commentariat.

@8 Never underestimate Bailo. He can achieve heights of stupid beyond most people's imagination. He can plumb depths of stupid where the pressure alone would crush a man like a grape. He can achieve a density of stupid that would stop a bullet. He's like the Superman of dumb.

I bet you adorable in your little spiked dog collar...

Bow wow wow, big boy!
