Boycott the NBA Playoffs!.
I'm from Iowa, the nearest NBA team is hundreds of miles away. And yet, people are still RABID pro basketball fans. They just pick whatever team looks cool or wins a lot and adopt them as "their team". So no, I don't think Seattle will lose its market for the NBA. There could be no teams in your half of the country and people would still watch.

SPD Supports Free Speech and Doesn't Use Excessive Force, Police Say.
Hey Fnarf, what do you think Erica C. Barnett did to get tear gassed? Do you think she threw stuff at the cops too? What about last year when Brendan got pepper sprayed? What was he doing to provoke the SPD? Being a journalist is not a criminal offense. A few people throw stuff, and the SPD mace the whole crowd. A baby gets hit by a flash bang, and it's the mother's fault for being there? If that's how the SPD lets people express their first amendment rights, it's no wonder they're being sued by the DOJ.

Gun Nuts and Drone Fears.
I can't believe I have to explain this, but a person with a concealed carry permit is not the same thing as a President unilaterally executing people with his army of flying robots. The U.S. Government is arguing that they have the right to kill anyone, U.S. citizen or not, on or off U.S. soil, by dropping bombs on them. No trial, no evidence, just blow 'em up. This is big deal, but you (and Steinberg) are pissed because somebody wants to own a Glock.

The Closer Google Glass Gets, the More Ethical Dilemmas Appear.
You know, smart phones have the ability to record video and take pictures too. These days, when somebody has their phone out, you don't know if they're texting, browsing the web, or shooting video of you, and nobody seems to have a problem with that. So maybe take your Luddite bullshit somewhere else.

I, Anonymous.
Maybe the kid will be fine. But if he's not, if he comes out disfigured or developes a severe mental illness, that mom will spend the rest of her life wondering if it's her fault. "Did I fuck up my kid's whole life because I couldn't give up weed for 9 months?" Is not a question you want hanging over your head.

Vatican Denies Pope-Toppling Gay Sex Scandal.
I realize the Vatican are a bunch of despicable assholes, but I don't see how you can be mad at them for denying this scandal. I mean, that's just what you do with scandals, you deny them, doesn't matter if they're true or not. How would it help the church if they were open and honest about fucking a bunch of gay prostitutes? Would you be less angry? I'm not saying the Catholic Church is in the right here, they're just playing by the time honored formula of the public scandal: First comes the accusations, then the denial, then the evidence surfaces, then a half-hearted apology.

You May Now Kiss the Bride and the Other Bride and the Other Bride and the Other Groom.
I find your stance on this issue surprisingly conservative, Mistress. I mean, just because polyamorous marriage would present legal and logistical difficulties doesn't mean it shouldn't happen, or you shouldn't fight for it. "Being in love doesn't have to include a ring or a big white cake" is a terrible argument against marriage equality, and I might add, can be used against same-sex marriage. Your anecdotal experiences and discussions with your friends about Polyamory does not prove there is no support out there for Poly Marriage. I'm sorry you had some bad experiences with cohabitation, but you need to realize that not all people are introverts and not all partners are like that property-obsessed ex of yours. You mentioned that you could count on one hand the number of happy poly households that have cohabitated for many years. Don't you think at least some of those people would enjoy things like hospital visitation rights, next of kin status, and adoption privileges? Sure, Polyamorous Marriage doesn't seem likely now, but neither did gay marriage before Stonewall, or even 20 years ago. So when Poly Marriage does happen, maybe don't stand in the way?
