This was a terrible movie.
* Handheld cam in 3D is super annoying. I don't know why you would choose handheld in the 3D age. See this in 2D if you're going to see it. My friend took off his 3D glasses repeatedly to give his head a break.
* Everybody magically jumps to the right location in a city without much transportation left at all times.
* Collateral damage is never a thought of Superman's until about a minute left in the movie: a horrific number of people would have died simply because he couldn't "take it outside". They go up into the atmosphere: and come right back down to downtown in order to kill more bystanders. Somebody called it disaster porn: that seems pretty spot on in the latter half.
* Watching 45 minutes of CGI fight is overwhelming. Avengers at least interjected moments you were supposed to care about more. This is just mindless.

The "transporter to the other side of the universe" is mentioned in the film as due to Khan having a transwarp device. It was also pointed out that Scotty's transwarp equation had been confiscated from him, which is why they could not directly follow.

Could we craft an initiative forbidding public funds to be used for a stadium/team stolen from another city? I'm fine/excited with us getting an expansion franchise, but we're currently letting ourselves be used to extort other teams/cities. That's a terrible thing.

@16 Getting pregnant, or fear thereof, shouldn't be a government-mandated forcing function for a 12/13 year old to have to talk about sex with their possibly crazed moralistic parents. That kind of thing is currently none of anybody else's business. Just because your parents are moralistically or religiously crazy enough to prevent you from making an actually smart choice (as opposed to your concern about the initial decision) doesn't mean we need to punish kids or ruin their future.

Science is winning, religion is losing. Let's step bravely into the future. Or at least the current century, really.
