Goldy, you might not know this, but gas taxes are regressive taxes. They disproportionately affect those with smaller incomes. We're already in the top ten highest states in terms of gasoline tax. Your additional ten cents would put us in the top three.

This is your solution? Really?

However, throwing explosive devices laced with hazardous chemicals into a crowd of people is still not a crime... as long as you're wearing a uniform.

Hey fnarf, why don't you advocate more physical violence against people, you cowardly fuck?

@16:

Really? Seriously? Fnarf has an extensive and readily visible history of wishing physical harm on other people, which Slog has willingly allowed to be published for years and years. This approval of physical violent harm towards other people is exponentially more disturbing than a few empty water bottles thrown at thugs with IEDs and chemical agents and wooden batons.

Yet the Stranger allows him to spout off his crap and in essence implicitly endorses his advocation of serious physical violence against people. And more comments = more ad hits, which is the reason why creepy little violent fucks like Fnarf equate to more profits for Tim Keck.

This is fucked up.

Also, the DSA sent a letter to the city asking to reduce the number of Sounders and Seahawks matches to one per year. (Strangely enough, no request was made with regard to Mariners games.)

@14:

If you have an intimate connection to the subject of a story, yes, journalistic ethics supposedly require you to recuse yourself from covering that person - and there aren't a whole lot of situations more intimate than being nannied by someone. Yes, you did disclose that specific relation - yet you reported on him anyway, and in rather glowing fawning terms at that.

What you did not disclose, however, is how exactly you came to be babysat by the current interim police chief. One usually doesn't trust one's kids to random strangers. Is Jim Pugel a family friend of yours or something? Close neighbors? That merits a bit of disclosure, again, giving lip service to whatever ethics allegedly remain in journalism.

@7: Absolutely true. However, you have a person on your news staff reporting on police issues who was babysat by the current interim SPD Chief. That's kinda fucked up journalismwise, no?

Scott was simply a beautiful songwriter. Every hook sounded like heaven. Every word, no matter how arch or cute or clever or bittersweet, was the only word that would fit. Every song was the perfect song to play with the windows of your car down, wind whipping your hair.
