@26, If you're going to accuse one of the largest and most respected news organizations in the world of willfully inventing stories you're going to need to come up with some sort of evidence of that. Are you saying this never happened? Is that 4 year old still alive or did they never exist in the first place?

I guess what I'm saying is you're a lying sack of shit.

Splitting states is all about giving more control of the Senate to ignorant hillbilly rednecks.

Also, in the example I gave earlier that 18 year old boy caught with his 16 year old girlfriend would probably just show up on the list as statutory rape, thus putting him on Drum's list. Again, you'll have to forgive me for not trusting a vigilante killer to do extensive research on his victims. Not to even mention that the dead are not the only victims of murder.

Just because this guy supposedly filtered his list for "serious" sex offenders doesn't mean the next guy (inspired by Drum perhaps) will do the same. Call me crazy for not trusting the judgement and restraint of a guy on a shooting rampage.

You're absolutely right. It's ridiculous what will get you on a sex offender list these days. I'm all for an abundance of caution and coming down hard on real sex offenders but an 18 year old boy who has sex with his 16 year old girlfriend can end up listed as a "sex offender" for the rest of his life. If they have taken nude pictures of each other when they were both under 18 they can both be listed.

Did those kids do something stupid? Maybe, maybe not, but they certainly don't deserve to spend the rest of their lives unable to get a job or an apartment for their actions and they definitely don't deserve to have some vigilante lunatic come murder them for it.

Don't be silly. It's not "because socialism". It's because "America!". Mandela was a Socialist too (possibly even a communist) but the reason we love Mandela is that he fought an oppressive regime in a foreign country. We don't hear about Debs because he fought against an oppressive regime here in the USA.

I should add that even if this is true I am confident Obama was the better choice in both elections. I'm sure both McCain and Romney would have done the same thing plus devastating economic & environmental policies.
Dec 9, 2013 Root commented on Cherry-Picked Intelligence on the Syrian Chemical Weapons Attack?.
If this is true, and I await more reliable sources, this is unacceptable. I didn't vote, and volunteer, and donate, to get Obama elected twice to get a third and fourth Bush term. A big part of why I voted against McCain (though there were many reasons) was his enthusiasm about going to war. I don't want a president who makes shit up to justify going to war.

@2, It's just so cute how you think you and your guns can hold off the might of the US military. It just makes me want to pinch your cheeks. When will you and your type realize that your personal armory, and the 2 hands you have to operate it, do not concern the US government one little bit? You paranoid little freaks never cease to amaze me.
Dec 4, 2013 Root commented on Enrollment Numbers Way Up.
@7, the short version, though you could certainly look any of this up if you wanted.

How's it paid for? Mostly by reducing emergency room visits, overpayments to hospitals, changing the way we pay hospitals for service and a small tax on medical devices. For the most part, the extra insured patients are paid for by fixing the system and cutting out wasteful practices.

No, they won't cancel the Bush cuts for everyone, although they should. No he didn't enact a tax on the rich but he allowed one of their many tax cuts to expire which will substantially reduce the federal deficit.

No, the middle class has been getting soaked for decades. This has nothing to do with Obamacare. It's not caused by Obamacare and it won't be fixed by Obamacare, except that we'll have a lot fewer middle class people declaring bankruptcy when their insurance company cancels their policy when they get sick.

I hope this helps alleviate your confusion.
