In addition to the advice to tell the guy off and get out, I think LWIR should also look into his rights as a renter or roommate in case this shithead tries to throw him out. In a number of states, even if there's no formal lease agreement and you're paying off the books (mostly intended for college students who might need looser rent agreements), you can't be simply thrown out without notice. But LWIR should be aware of that.

I agree with #8. Playboy's relatively harmless. And unless you unload a massive collection of older issues onto someone, they're going to be going through a limited amount of material. And something I learned at that age is that there's only so many times one can spank it to a single issue of Playboy without getting a little bored with the pictorials. Which means that you actually start reading and appreciating the articles while waiting for the next issue to come out. Although I admit my experience (wherein I stumbled onto the shelf in the bathroom where my dad kept his Playboys) may not be universal.

This is one of the few times I actually had such a strong mental reaction that I didn't even bother finishing the letter.

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe this guy blew his shot. But if he hasn't and he's got a chance, then some variation on what Dan suggested would probably be the best thing to say. If he doesn't have a chance, annoying her slightly more couldn't possibly make things worse.

I agree with Dan's advice on this girl talking to her boyfriend about it, but I'm not sure it's kosher here to come in with the assumption that the guy's been messing around while he's away. There's a chance, yeah, but Dan's just this close to suggesting that Australia is a country of succubi here.

I'd probably advise DUD to make sure to have a fuller STI talk with his son, maybe emphasizing that there are studies talking about how STIs tend to migrate in high schools a lot more than among 20s-and-up adults.* And then maybe segueing the conversation from there to "and this applies to gay or straight kids, whatever you wind up being into." and seeing where the conversation goes from there.

But after that, as people have pointed out, Gomer is not likely to knock up DUD's son. And as has been pointed out, forbidding him from spending time alone with Gomer at home simply means they're going to go somewhere else and risk getting in trouble. I say at that point, if he's going to experiment, just suggest he keep the noise down and pretend to not notice -- same as if he was masturbating in his room.

*-- For those who haven't heard, it's been found that once you're older than college age, you tend to stick to certain social circles for partners. Whereas in high school, the sexual relationships are like chains -- Abe is dating Barbara who's dating Chris who's dating Dana... etc and a disease that Zeke has might wind up passing all the way down to Abe.

One specific thing I wanted to respond to in OMG's letter...

Of course the age difference doesn't bother him! He's the older guy! For that first year or so he got to be the college age guy who brags to his friends about how he was banging a girl in high school! If your ages had been reversed or you'd only been one year younger than him, you'd have been far less appealing to him. Seriously, dump this motherfucker yesterday if not sooner.
