What Do You Think of the Aftershock Trailer?.
I'm intrigued by the idea of a natural-disaster mob-rule style torture porn. Things like Saw and Hostel outgrew their welcome far too fast, and this seems like a solid refresh of the genre.
But then they lost me with the final 10 seconds of the trailer. Yet another death by car from suddenly off screen, and a tsunami is a really lame plot point for a movie that sold me on the concept of "human nature." It went from "I'll watch this" to "Nope, it's going to be lame."

Tuesday Morning News: Boston and Way Beyond.
I was sort of hoping that Megan would be on Morning News duty today so I bask in her reaction to the Vancouver Canucks knocking the Nashville Predators out of playoff contention last night.

Now How Excited Are You?.
@19 @37 You keep mentioning this Netflix thing, but you'd first have to mention one film or tv series produced by HBO that is currently on Netflix. HBO hates Netflix and is very unlikely to release anything through them.

Because Guns Make Us Safer.
I hope that congress will finally address the dangers of suburbs building all their houses looking exactly the same. I, for one, never trust the mental state who thinks architectural conformity is an appealing aesthetic for a neighborhood.

The Death of Google Reader.
I'm going to have such a hard time adjusting to whatever reader alternative I settle on unless it has massive keyboard shortcuts for everything. The ability to scroll through hundreds of articles in an hour is the reason I'm so addicted to Google Reader.

What Do You Think About the Veronica Mars Kickstarter?.
While I don't like seeing corporate things on Kickstarter, I appreciate having overriding power over studio heads who doubt that there is enough enthusiasm over a show to justify investing money in it. The fact that thousands of people are so eager to plop down $35 for a digital movie a full year before its release, especially when the release could be delayed or canceled for any number of reasons after they take your money with zero recourse for getting a refund, speaks volumes to studios who are on the fence about other shows that have solid fan bases.

Sad Trombone for Doonesbury.
Go to Emerald City Comicon and check out the Topataco booth and a lot of the booths surrounding it. You will find 10's of webcomic artists with devout followings all selling their books at a much faster pace than almost any other independent print artist in the artist's alley. Dinosaur Comics, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, Questionable Content, Not Invented Here, Unshelved, Sam and Fuzzy, etc...
Like it or not, this is the future of comics.
