Oh, Jesus Christ. What a bunch of whiners! Tim Kaine on a bad day is 5,000 parsecs to the left of Antonin Scalia. That's who the Dems are running against, folks, Antonin Scalia times 3 or 4 as the sitting Justices die or retire over the next few years, because that's what a Republifascist Administration is going to buy you.

Vote Dem or kiss progressivism goodbye for one or two generations, and possibly America goodbye forever, period.

@19, @23 Now that you mention it, this line did have a familiar ring to it:

"He will never, ever, give up. And, most importantly, he will never, ever, let you down."

@13 Libertarians? You mean that party that opposes medicare, social security, the minimum wage, securities laws, aid to education, safety regulations, VA and FHA mortgage loans, food and drug laws, clean water, and any limits on drilling, mining, fracking and air pollution?

Sure, let's all be free to live in a dog-eat-dog Dickensian society on a poisoned, destroyed planet. Sounds like good times.

Touche, Dan. It's time for the "house fags" to leave their master and embrace freedom. As it is, they're only enablers now. The mere existence of a gay Republican faction suggests to the public that the GOP couldn't REALLY be homophobic, or how would such a group exist?

Well, guess what? They REALLY are. Now call it a day.

Besides, remember what it was that you embraced in the Republican Party 40 years ago? Fiscal responsibility: Not a shred of that survived their tax giveaways. Smaller government: It's not smaller, just less effective, more corrupt, and more intrusive. Today's Democrats ARE those fiscally conservative, socially liberal Republicans from 40 years ago. Wake up. Help bury the Republican Party before it stinks any worse.

I'd bet it was a transitory blow-out. Dude finds himself out in the world, suddenly completely free of whatever relationship prison his marriage represented, and he just lost his bearings. All these younger women around, all theoretically friending/dating material. He had to get over his intoxication and relearn his (and everyone else's) boundaries. He just went a little crazy for a while. If that's all it was, it's lamentable, but not part of an underlying pattern.

Anyone know why I can't change my damned avatar? I've been trying to replace it with a Drumpf hat for a week now, and the old toilet paper one still shows.

Tindering for Republicans? Ewwwww....
Jul 12 Brooklyn Reader commented on Watch Live: President Obama's Remarks at the Memorial for Slain Police Officers in Dallas.
Anyone notice Bush, inappropriately grinning, swaying, and swinging his arms gleefully while they're all holding hands singing along with the choir? Of all the people on stage, he alone seems to think he's at some sort of hoe-down and not a solemn memorial service. Compare that to the dignity, seriousness, and elegance of President Obama's message. What a blessing it has been to have such a man in the White House these last 7 1/2 years.

Then, think about Trump, and despair the possibility that he could ever sit in the Oval Office.
Jul 7 Brooklyn Reader commented on Trump Is "No Reader," Vanity Fair Reported in 1990, But He Kept a Book of Hitler's Speeches By His Bed.
@10 That is EXACTLY where we are. Trump is a laughable toad. His followers, on the other hand, are fucking scary. Unless this election is a major repudiation of "Trumpism," and maybe not even then, taking power away from those followers is going to be a problem. The apparently hunger for a fascist leader, and if it's not Drumpf, it could very well be some other psychopath.
