Apr 20 MrBaker commented on City Council Selects Eight Finalists in Search to Replace Sally Clark.
It's a short window to occupy the position. Expecting somebody to be able to step in and help immediately isn't really a "dick move" as it is prudent.

None of the candidates are hurt by this.

I'll pay more in taxes on medical pot than I will for all of my chemo because … Olympia.

I hope Brian Hatfield enjoys the massive heart attack that accompanies excessive consumption of cow.
I hate that guy.
Apr 10 MrBaker commented on Alaskan Lawmakers Tell Seattle to Butt Out of Arctic Drilling, Shut Down Boeing to Combat Carbon Emissions Instead.
Whatever.
No oil drilling rigs on my property, property paid for with my local tax dollars. Port of Seattle, sadly, doesn't represent the interests of the people they take taxes from, and swear to represent.

If Alaska doesn't want Boeing airplanes on their property, go for it.
Apr 6 MrBaker commented on When Will Christine Gregoire, Rob McKenna, Pete Holmes, and the Shits on the City Council Apologize to Mike McGinn?.
You've turned over most of the staff, updated the look, but Dan is trolling for clicks?
I think the one that owes an apology is the publisher.
Apr 6 MrBaker commented on When Will Christine Gregoire, Rob McKenna, Pete Holmes, and the Shits on the City Council Apologize to Mike McGinn?.
McGinn failed to provide an alternative that, given the politics at the state level, was even remotely possible.
At no point has the state shown the slightest interest in funding transit on a scale that would make surface+transit possible.
A fact consistently glossed over.

The other alternative the state was willing to consider was an even larger elevated highway. That is another fact consistently glossed over.

Currently, Hitachi is on the hook as the machine is under warranty.
Another fact consistently glossed over.

Worst, Dan is not nearly as good at trolling for McGinnians as Dominic was.
Apr 3 MrBaker commented on CenturyLink Apologizes for Misleading Customer About Its Gigabit Internet Service.
And no, neither for-profit company will ever cover the city, every address, with gig service.
Apr 3 MrBaker commented on CenturyLink Apologizes for Misleading Customer About Its Gigabit Internet Service.
I think the 2009 cost for muni was $480mil.

Also, you can go to centurylink's web to find out if they offer gigabit speed to a particular address in 3 minutes (just did it).
Apr 3 MrBaker commented on The Morning News: Republicans Make It Harder to Change Their Budget, Tom Douglas Backpedals on Minimum Wage Surcharge.
@16 basic communication concepts missed by you, dumbshit.

Pointing out the source of a singular cost that is a condition of doing business in this city is dick-ish. If that's fair game then why not the other things the receipt pays for like Tom's house, or his car.
Apr 3 MrBaker commented on The Morning News: Republicans Make It Harder to Change Their Budget, Tom Douglas Backpedals on Minimum Wage Surcharge.
Does Tom Douglas put a separate and special surcharge on receipts when he buys a house or new car?

No?
He wouldn't want to point that out but somehow it's ok to point out an increase in employee wages.

Well, fuck him.
