SL Letter of the Day: Did You Think I Was Going To Tell You Not To Come Out? (PLUS: Help Free Kate!).
When I was a high schooler, 3 year high schools were more the norm, with junior high school being grades 7-9. (kent school district, early 80's). Now, my kids attend Bellevue schools, with high school being grades 9-12. I do think the distance btw 9th and 12th graders is significant, but that's the system we have. It isn't reasonable to expect kids together in the same school to not socialize and date! As a parent, I would not be pleased to find my soon-to-be freshman dating a senior, but short of homeschooling, how exactly would you keep 9th and 12th graders apart?

Because Guns Make Us Safer.
Without reading any comments first, i'm going to say that it's a terrible mistake, but i really don't blame the homeowner. Protecting your home, confronting the intruder, warning shot, and the threat is dead. Only 2 houses away, though. He didn't recognize the teen?
