Part of being a "professional" anything is concentrating on your job, being able to overcome the distractions that get in the way of doing your job.

If 54 men can't concentrate on X's and O's because someone on their team just took the brave step of saying who he is as a person, then those 54 men are not professionals. They can't do their job right, and are not mature enough to understand their responsibilities. The end.
