I actually like the restroom idea because I've frequently visited carts and found myself without access to one. Hopefully this will lead to some 'pods' forming in Seattle similar to those in Multnomah County. They don't always override restaurants - ever looked on a rainy winter day?

After moving to Oregon, car tabs were quite a bit more expensive. I'd be glad to pay for enhancements to my city's transit if it's outlined well. I use TriMet to commute to and from work (or bicycle) and it's much easier than parking.
I wonder if Seattle could ever implement a sales tax on parking in its core that would be similar to Vancouver's funds for TransLink. Then again, that would probably require some fine-tuning of state law which sounds pretty unlikely at this point.

@CatBallou, You've not found Tattered Cover? They have charming locations in Denver. http://www.tatteredcover.com/locations-h… Colfax Avenue is in a re-purposed theater, it's a great space. Downtown's is nice too.

I'm wondering which Vancouver chain this was. Loblaw's owned "Superstore" and I think their smaller format Extra Foods have both been charging for bags for some time.
