A) is not a good argument
B) makes you appear mean and lacking in real arguments
C) stops all reasonable, productive argument and replaces it with the equivalent of "Am not! Are too!", and as a result
D) causes your audience to lose interest

Why do conservatives think it's reasonable to trust a random person with a gun, but not a woman with the right to choose an abortion? Either we are competent and trustworthy or we aren't. And in which situation is the average person likely to act more competently, a violent episode involving guns, or a medical procedure that must be scheduled?
