Eating From the Garden.
Overwintered kale, lots of radishes (looks like you like French Breakfast as well), thinned lettuce and sorrel. It was a good year for getting stuff planted in late Feb. The warm March gave things a kick start before getting hammered by the hail this weekend.

Whiskey Nerding.
Those whiskey rocks are a total scam. Everyone knows the chill produced by ice is not from the temperature compared to the solution it is in, but its phase change from solid to liquid. It takes a lot of energy to melt ice- energy that is sucked out of your Manhattan as heat. The stupid rocks just warm up as your drink cools down until they reach equilibrium- no phase change.

Vegans, Prepare Thy Ire.
Think of all us animals (and plants too) as little concentrated leftovers of the big bang that only want to stay together. We are not gods.

Germination Weather.
My peas and lettuce look just about like yours. Radishes are about 2 cm tall. I put in real raised beds this year for the first time. Pleased with how the soil has warmed up more quickly. First beet seeds and spuds went in the ground last weekend (St. Patrick be damned).
