It is fair to say that while you don't hold the winery directly responsible for the views of it's representative, you will prefer wines from that region where the wineries owners have actively opposed this measure.

Eh...uncomfortable with this idea, unless you can consider being located in the same county as "support." I'd encourage people to write to these wineries and say that having this representation certainly gives their county a bad name, and you on't be traveling there in the future, but I wouldn't boycott the winery unless you know they've given material support to this agenda. The winery is sure to feel like they are being made an unfair target, and outside observers will say "They mean gays are bullying the winery just like they are bullying that poor florist."

Yes, but what breaks Texas's hold on what goes into textbooks also breaks California's. We've made textbooks a lot more progressive for the rest of the country. (We buy more textbooks than Texas.) So the downside is that companies will be able to afford to tailor materials to a far smaller states than they perviously could. And I think that will empower states like Idaho and and Virginia to set education back in their respective neighborhoods. I'm not sure a text book world where each state is empowered to set any list of demands on publishers is superior to a polarized world where states had to choose between CA and TX curriculums.

FYI, they are having bigot prom at something called the Downtown Gym? Is that a business? A city facility? Can one of the commenters from Sullivan let us know how to contact this facility so we can properly express our displeasure that they are hosting a hate gathering?

Yes, it's a good idea...but someone needs to write one not riddled with special exemptions, and I voted against CA's because as I understood it, labeling would have been the responsibility of retailers which seems crazy to me.
