@11 You're right. It's a sex column. I don't expect Dan to give useful advice on a genetic flesh disease. So that's why LW doesn't go into those details.

Dan is certainly spot-on on his advice for LW not to read the comments. It took only three comments before someone decided to rag on him.

@7, I was speaking specifically from the kinky perspective. I find my own reactions to be very different in kinky & non-kinky encounters. The latter is as you describe. The former is... more complicated. And I've certainly identified with LW's reactions, where I've felt the same way in kinky encounters. Yes, the participant has something to do with it, but there are many other things going on as well.

One of the things that I've come to appreciate with kinky stuff is that the orgasm becomes far less important. I figured an extra piece of advice for LW would be to take the orgasm completely off the table during his sessions.

Basically the nanosecond that I come I feel pretty grossed out with myself.

This is basic male hormone stuff. I forget the name, but once a man ejaculates, his sex drive hits zero, then slowly begins to rebuild. So.... have you thought of a chastity device? For your one-on-one sessions? Forgo that whole aspect and just enjoy the experience. Something to think about.

I'll always take Ride With the Devil. Good white people who go along with slavery because it's always been that way, they don't want to think about it, and personal loyalties always trump morality. Until after years of war and seeing friends die and enemies die and friends turning into enemies who kill some more, begin to ask the question "If the way things have always been can produce such horrible atrocities, maybe we should change the way we do things?" And some white people say, "Nah! The problem is that we didn't do them enough!" and some people say, "This is truly fucked and I'm going to try and make things better."

Because that's what really happened.

What's stopping you from just writing on the petition form, "This is about hate, pure and simple." Or whatever words you chose to use. Then carefully read it back to the signature gatherer.
Jun 17 Some Old Nobodaddy Logged In commented on The Economics of Our Crumbling Infrastructure.
@2, The essential point is that the "bailout" was to criminals who have not been brought to justice.

Rebuilding our infrastructure is not "breathtakingly expensive." That is a complete lie. So complete that only an idiot or charlatan would peddle it. The invasion of Iraq was "breathtakingly expensive." 40 billion over 30 years is chump change compared to it. Most of that money disappeared, without any accounting. The money spent on infrastructure goes to American workers. Not just the grunts, but the contractors, engineers, designers, up and down the economic scale. That money is pumped into the economy, boosting sales, as well as tax revenue. It grows the economy, and makes it easier to continue to pay for the upgrades. Plus we have a stronger infrastructure, making the country more efficient. And more pleasant to live in, as well.

Why you argue lies so you can live in a shit hole is beyond me.

@30 If you can't figure out the difference between a gun and alcohol, then your opinion is moot.

Olive: Him? It was a boy? You fell in love with a boy?
Frank: Yes, I did. Very much so.
Olive: That's silly.
Frank: Yes you're right. It was very, very silly.

@ 22, oh puh-leaze.

"...the gullibility of these victims is without measure. ... Kind of boggles the mind."

That is precisely what is meant about your lack of empathy. If you can't understand why these women did what they did, so much that it 'boggles [your] mind,' then you lack empathy. Yes, what you wrote is victim-blaming, and no amount of hair-splitting arguments will change that. If you don't like it, then either say, "I misspoke, I meant to say..." or just own up to it and move on.

And that last line, "Kind of boggles the mind." is an asshole rhetorical move, where your personal conclusion is a fait accompli. What you witnessed boggles your mind and no one else's. And that is the best admission of your lack of imagination or empathy or both that we're likely to get out of you.

@1, What, you mean that the situation, in terms of culture, economy, and politics, have changed since you were a kid? I'm shocked!

Oh, who are we kidding? Living in the early 90's is exactly the same as now. It's the kids who are wrong.
