@11 Your post just makes this worse. Ok, so it's not "one evil judge," it's an entire group of politicians who are clueless and evil. They didn't consider oral sex? How is that even possible? Every politician that has been in the OK congress for generations is culpable in something like that. Their profound ignorance and unwillingness to look at the issue means that no one there is responsible enough or competent enough to be anywhere near a policy-making organization, unless it's as a janitor.

@2 The smug and superior attitude is absolutely vital for those who peddle lies. You have already created a leg-up on anyone who would challenge those lies. You can deny any facts cited with that attitude with no loss of face. It is a way of teaching the adherents how to dispense the lies to others. Your comment is like saying, "Gee, it wasn't the airplanes that destroyed the city, it was all the bombs they dropped." The attitude and lies go hand-in-hand, and are both instinct elements of what Fox is trying to accomplish.

I look forward to the day when "I watch Fox News" is treated w/ the same reaction as "I'm a Scientologist."

I wonder about FRIEND's friend's fiance. Did Dan make up the kink about diaper fetishism or was that part edited out of the letter? Either way, perhaps one of his kinks that FRIEND didn't find in her snooping is cuckolding. It could be the case that he feels he's hit the jackpot with this marriage. Dan's advice is still spot-on, although his interpretation of what's going on might be off.

The truth is, there are a lot of voting-age people who were born around this time, and don't really know much about it.

I wonder, if he won't tell her his kinks, but nothing in his "secret" emails explores those kinks, then wouldn't that mean that his "kinks" are actually being secretive and/or cheating?

So, LW, before you try Dan's advice, why not propose to bf that you stay together, but tell everyone publicly that you can't stand the sight of each other? And then, meet in sordid hotels, near-empty parking lots, in the bushes, under bridges, for no-one-dare-find-out sex? Or you both post hot CL want ads, answer each other's (with the stipulation that both partners can read any and all other answers to them), then meet up for that hot, forbidden sex.

If that doesn't work, there's always dtmfa.

I agree with Rich's reading of this, but Jesus H Fucking Christ, is the Stranger *that* hard-up for content that their writers can't do *basic fucking research* on the subjects on which they write?

Because right now, the only difference between the knee-jerk comments in the comments section and the actual blog is the length and their prominence. My comments on here of late have been a lot more mean and angry. But when my ass is just as golden for non-researched screeds as the Stranger writers, then can you pay me instead? I'll happily provide content off the top of my head, without having to actually think about it.

With a title and picture tag like that, Baume should be writing for Drudge or Fox News.

And if it's supposed to be "ironic," well, I guess he's never heard of Poe's Law.

Interesting discovery of today: US corporate criminals don't like to use a money laundering outfit whose first language isn't English. Who knew they were raging bigots as well? That's why so few Americans are implicated. Still, this is the largest leak ever in the history of the world, and apparently there is more to come.

@1, You forgot one little key detail: Clinton has been the beneficiary of outlandish speaking fees from the *very same corporations that are implicated* after she lobbied for the agreement to be approved. And how much did Sanders get? $0. So they're both "concerned," but one gets millions in kickback money and one doesn't. Yeah, no difference there, none at all.
Apr 5 Some Old Nobodaddy Logged In commented on What If More of Today's Bernie Sanders Supporters Had Voted in the 2014 Midterm Elections?.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this completely tone-deaf, out-of-the-loop article for what it is. Instead of bitching and moaning about "Where were you when I needed you?" why don't you ask yourselves, "What is it about the Sanders campaign that has suddenly got people excited?"

My Democratic congressman was given to me by the party elites. He had a challenger, a progressive, that was given no support or money by the party. They knew who they wanted and that's what we have. And what has Mr. Magic done since elected? Not much. He's been straight party ticket, said nothing, done nothing, happily supporting the corporate status quo.

The reason why people are excited about Sanders is because he inspires trust. He walks his talk. It's not only that he's prepared to "do it his way," but that he is the only one who has correctly identified the many problems that America faces, and dismisses the ones the media and the bigots want to rant about. If the Dem party was willing to put forth candidates like that, instead of their hand-picked toadies, then it would have created a big shift in the mid-terms.

The point is, the situation we have now is precisely the one the Dems want. But like all losers, instead of looking in the mirror and trying to figure out what is wrong, they blame others.

Where's Dan "The Lesser of Two Evils" Savage on this one?

Just another example of the profound difference between the R's & the D's. The R's will sell you into slavery. The D's will do the same, and will ask that you get a meal a day and half of Sundays off. (Not that the slavers will agree, but at least the D's will ask.)
