Mar 27 Queerly Yours commented on Activists Say Kansas Bill May Allow HIV Positive People to Be Quarantined.
The quoted piece above is unclear about the connection, but the law that they passed explicitly changes existing law so that the Kansas Secretary of Environment and Health can require testing, isolate or quarantine anyone afflicted with any infectious disease listed under that statute.

Isolation and quarantine are explicitly stated in the bill as potential reactions to HIV+ people receiving emergency medical care.

At least he was thorough in directing his ire. All the other Savages, Misters and Misses can rest assured he does not mean them.

@3 There's a staff of lawyers, called the code reviser's office, that handles any changes ordered by the legislature. Once a change has proposed, the office writes up a new version of the law with the new wording. The new wording is provided to the legislature before they even vote on the bill.

These changes have already been made, they just need final approval.

@16 The internet tells me that the winner will get $1,000 and will be essentially a beauty pageant winner working for queer social justice in the Seattle Area. While wearing briefs.

rob!, you cannot twunk. If you get hairy but stay skinny, you become an otter. If you get hairy and muscley, you're a wolf. If you get hairy and big (fat or muscle) you're a bear. Heck, if you just get big you're a bear.

Queer male categories are living things. You are what you are now, not what you were back then... unless you desperately try to hold onto it... then you're kind of sad. Embrace what you are now!

Unless...

Wait for it...

Did you mean, to twink as in "I totally went to the club last night and went home with that tiny little twink. I totally twunked last night!"

Then it might be an acceptable alternate meaning. Perhaps.

@29 it is a term! I'm not sure if Dan coined it, but it definitely gets used on the gay blogs... so yeah. :D

Go forth and call all the boys that are too musclely to be twinks, but too skinny to be hunks, twunks. :D

He's really pretty. :D

But I really love that kitchen he's in... damnit. At what point does a healthy, queer, 20-something year old man say "I like the muscley twunk in the foreground, but I wish he'd step to the side so I could really appreciate the kitchen accessories."

I mean, the brick chimney with the hurricane lamp. The gas range. The tea kettle. The glass canisters with what looks like oat meal and maybe popcorn. *sigh* It's a very dreamy American Farmhouse look.

Can I have the kitchen and this Eli person?

@Robotslave, I don't follow Penny Arcade anymore, but they aren't the only game in the webcomics business. Blind Ferret, as mentioned above, has grouped together a few artists that put out daily comics, physical books, prints, and other merchandise. They are also working on moving into animation, putting together an animated series based on Least I Could Do and raising the funds to do a movie of Looking For Group.

On top of all of their online work, the people behind Blind Ferret decided that their hometown didn't have a good enough comics shop, so they bought brick and mortar buildings and put up physical comics shops in their town. Using the money they earned as web comics artists.

They're proving that it is a business model that can and does work. It just takes finding the right niche, marketing skill, and providing consistent quality product.

@7 Shoosh! You're shaking Paul's rightness!

Also include Jeph Jacques on your list. ;) if you're going to do a limited list, it shouldn't be mostly one hosting group. Something Positive and Girls with Slingshots are hosted on blind ferret servers. The business ties go deep there. ;)
