@4 discrimination against people in a federally protected class (race, religion, disability, gender...) will still be prohibited. The bill is intended to legalize discrimination against the LGTBQ community.

@5 as well as the caliber of player who comes out. If it's someone like Tom Brady, either Manning, AP, Brian Urlacher..., I expext the reaction from general fan to be something like "well, I'll be..."

@39 I want an honest comparison of cost of living, which would encompass all the costs associated with living in said apartment. Is the heat steam or electric? Are you responsible for water? Which utilities are included? Does it come with cable and Internet?

As for the common areas, yes a common kitchen and other common areas should definitely be included in determining the value of said place. Perhaps not adding the area to lower the square footage, but discounting them deliberately inflates the cost per square foot of living in an aPodment.

You seem content with basing the comparison on total area in the self contained unit. And that's just dumb and inaccurate.

@22 My point is to do an accurate cost comparison you need to include all the costs of living in one unit v another. If one is providing cable and the other isn't, then tha has to be a factor in determining is one more affordable then the other. You seem quite content with just comparing rent and size, and that will never yield a true cost comparison. It's sloppy and it's how many folks end up in a place (particularly when purchasing) and way over their head financially.

One final point, for some $2000/month is not affordable regardless of the cost per square foot and $550 is.

@12... You're cost per square foot comparison fails to take into account the communal areas as well as the fact that in an apodment the utilities and internet are included. To do a true cost comparison you need to factor all the costs of living and not just the rent. If you did that, I'd suspect you'd find the cost per square foot to live in a regular apartment and an apodment is much, much, much closer than you think/want to admit.

Difference: marriage has been recognized as a fundamental and constitutionally protected right for 100+ years while even today there's a debate over the right to privacy.
