OMG! [Oh my Gorilla]. Hibrow! You're back! You were missed!
I would love to respond more fully to your comments, but I'm at a loss as to WTF [what the fauxrage] gets your underpants in a bunch over anything we do. Perhaps I'M "to[o] insecure?"
Those of you not familiar with the great Hibrow's past trollnificence, here are their greatest hits:

First Thursday!.
You are funny iheartart.
I like it!
Can't we simply hug it out?
str8 up: Wynne is a lovely human being making thoughtful and challenging work that I am grateful she chooses to share with us.
A broad swath of the larger art world -- so broad as to negate any charges of exclusionary practice -- agrees. On this point you are wrong, wrong, wrong. Period.
You don't like the work. Great!
Keep up that healthy hatin'.
Your toothless attacks on all the other things are laughable, sad and naive in the face of the facts about her contribution and appreciation here and abroad.
Don't keep gummin' it.

Tonight at Cornish! The Culmination of SBC's Latest.
@9 Wake up!
A new version of the video showing the work from beginning to end (including the beautiful destruction of the piece) is now posted:

As a self-contained, snake biting its own tail, pure act of in-the-moment creation, automatic writing and finish fetish insanity, "Work in Progress" is a pitch perfect dismantling and interrogation of the tropes of time-based and artist-on-display residency models, endurance works, student/teacher collaborations, the object obsessed art world and creativity itself.

The Non-Fair.
What part of "room for everyone" and "GREAT Social Realists" do you not get Mystic?
But maybe you're right.
Maybe we have pulled the wool over the eyes of the entire art world.
For example:
Just another 'soft-work' May for a Seattle 'house of cards' built on 'hype,' easy conceptualism, and its 'word' with their 'undeserving' roster preparing for their 'utopias to crumble'...

Mystic (A.F.)-
Perhaps it's best if we take this discussion offline and hug this out.
Drop by the gallery anytime.

I like you northwest mystic (DP). Good stuff.
I think there was a healthy dose of irony with the Robb/hirst comparison. Surprised you missed the point there.
As for "authentic and sincere" we have a number of artists that would love to have that conversation with you. (bruch, Berk, browing, layman, jones, robb, Hansen, et al). You are very wrong here and history (read as career path) is already proving this. I blame this on myopia and ignorance which can easily be overcome if you simply chatted with any of us about what we're up to and why we do it with all our hearts. Just because there seems to be a little more head than hand should not blind you to our hearts. (And I think Bruch, Berk, Browning, Hansen et al would have something strong to say about the hand quotient too)
I'll admit that I'm equally ignorant about the things you seem to support (which are quite vague at this point, ie "you know, good honest art, not that insincere, beentheredonethat art at LP"). So again, perhaps a dialog could be mutually beneficial.
As for the "dictatorship" and "hype" comments, that's just silly. We do what we do. Others, other things. Jen tends to gravitate to the same things we do. Get over it. One voice. Don't listen. To propagate more Gravesisms you hate, it's like calling Greenberg out for not spilling ink on the great Social Realists or, more recently, Saltz for 'defending' Allora and Calzadilla. Futile.
There's room for everyone and every voice in Seattle which is why I love it here. I'm glad yours is starting to emerge and we wish you well. When you prove us and our artists wrong in our earnest endeavors, it will surely be to a different though similarly cliquish group. (which is good and healthy for our community)
Sincerely,
Lawrimore Project

Susanna-
Everyone knows, or knows someone like, Hibrow. She is the reincarnation of Louis Eilshemius, Ms Graves being her Henry McBride, the Slog her Blind Man, and me her reluctant, unwanted (though earnest) Duchamp.
I fear we have devoted too much space here to the present sidebar at the expense of not seriously considering and discussing Schaffer's thoughtful work (sorry Gregory). Can we now rally to restore sanity to the Slog?

An invitation for Hibrow and jen:
As the Art Klatch began precisely for this reason--to demystify the art world and create an open forum for debate about what's happening in our fair city--perhaps we can host the two of you to hash things out and bury a few (figurative i hope) hatchets.
The Klatch has, every week for the past 3 years, proven to be the exact opposite of what Hibrow claims to be insularity, insiderism, hipsterdom, and exclusionary behavior in what Lawrimore Project is/does, and, by proxy I suppose, anyone who writes about us or our artists. Her jabs at us, our artists, or those that choose to recognize us will historically be proven to be ignorant, poisonous anathema to the spirit of what we are trying to do in our community beyond the gallery itself.
We've had plenty of hibrows at our table through the years and I know it has been mutually beneficial to hear each other out. Collegial respect, acknowledgement, and understanding is always the result and what I think Hibrow is after in the end.
I agree with Sharon and jen that until Hibrow offers something beyond a critique of critique, she will only be remembered as doing as much damage as she claims in others though.
Long story short: we have a table that you are more than welcome to come and shit on Hibrow. We only ask that you back that shit up with rigorous, open and informed dialog.
The Klatch is where that can happen. Hell, we can even have you present via Skype to protect your identity.
We've reached out to you in the past to simply have a 'real' conversation with us to no avail and only to receive more vitriol. We're earnestly trying again.
Sincerely,
Lawrimore Project
