I'll be satisfied when she is sentenced. If and when that actually happens. And my guess is she was not charged with murder because the prosecutor would not be able to prove it.

This is how each and every one of our elected officials should be behaving, unapologetic watch dogs for the American people, but no, we have a bunch of bought by the highest bidder sleaze ball liars who refuse to do their jobs, all the while trying to dismantle the government (the parts they don't like) and collecting their paychecks.

I guess I was wrong, his family does own the restaurant. My bad. I don't understand how they were fighting with the community about the chicken restaurant when they owned it.
Sep 19 xina commented on Suspected Chelsea Bomber Arrested; Family Runs a Fried-Chicken Restaurant.
UM. His family does not own a fried chicken restaurant. Does anyone check facts? They live ABOVE a fried chicken restaurant which they've been fighting with for years (especially when it was open 24 hours). The guy is an American citizen. He may not have been born here but he is an American citizen, who has committed crimes against other Americans, on American soil. And lest we forget, as the media spins this as a Afghani immigrant, the most violent crimes against Americans committed by Americans on American soil have been done by American born, white males.…
Sep 11 xina commented on I Was In New York City During 9/11. I'll Never Forget.
I did, too and while I will never forget I cannot and will not relive the trauma over and over and over and over. I know I am fortunate, as there are many who don't have that choice - those whose loved ones died, those whose loved ones were never identified, those whose loved ones have died or are sick because they were first responders and/or worked to clean up ground zero or lived in downtown Manhattan. Our government lied to us then, our government continues to trot out 9/11 when it's convenient for them to pretend they care - but actions speak louder than words. The EPA is responsible for lying to people cleaning up ground zero and to people living near ground zero that the air was safe to breathe. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and Congress took us to war with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and kept secrets about what they knew before and after and they are still keeping secrets. People responsible for the attacks have sat in GITMO for 15 years now with no trials. American taxpayers have lost TRILLIONS of dollars on GWB's war (that in 2003 he declared "Mission Accomplished"). Cheney and Haliburton and who knows how many others have lined their pockets with millions of dollars made off this war. Saying "Never Forget" or "Always Remember" or holding ceremonies in front of the press is meaningless when congress refuses to take care of the sick first responders, when millions of dollars of fraud has taken place by New Yorkers, even law enforcement officers and fire department officials, stealing money from the 9/11 funds, and a total and absolute refusal by our country to do anything to address the reasons WHY this happened, to put an end to the racism and attacks on American citizens by other American citizens in the name of 9/11 (or any other tragic event that has occurred here on American soil, especially those committed by Americans against Americans), and to put a stop to the never ending war in which we are engaged. So much has happened in the world since 9/11 and we still continue on pretending that that day changed us and that we care when all of our actions, our true actions, show otherwise. If we cared about what happened on 9/11 we would not be at war with the world, fighting a war that cannot be won, have a PIG like Donald Trump a vote away from being President of the United States, a congress that refuses to do its job (and has since Barack Obama was elected President, TWICE), and a country being ripped apart at the seams by racism and a wealth divide unlike this country has ever seen. I am revolted by the hypocrisy. I remember that day and I remember how I thought it would change this country for the better - when I saw how people in "my city" helped each other that day and for weeks and months after the fact. Instead, things are uglier than they have been since the Civil Rights Movement and people were murdering our leaders on American soil. I will never forget. I also refuse to be a part of the hypocritical remembrance year after year after year that includes nothing but talk and news outlets showing the footage from that day on a loop to re-traumatize those of us who witnessed it and to traumatize those who may not even have been alive to witness it all in the name of an America that does not exist. NO MORE.

Aug 29 xina commented on How Uber and Lyft Reduce Taxi Cab Racism.
Even if that is true, you are forgetting that Uber and Lyft are for those of a certain class - those who have a smart phone and have the money to use such services. I am white, but I am disabled and don't have a smart phone and can't use Uber or Lyft (and wouldn't anyway since I believe the "sharing" economy is a bunch of BS that is all about rich people wanting to not have to follow rules or pay taxes, make money, and not have to deal with the consequences of anything bad that happens when their "employees" and/or "customers" experience problems (rapes, robberies, stolen wages, damages, etc.). I am just as likely to be passed by a taxi due to my mobility aids and required assistance, even though I am white. And I have no other choices in a last minute situation (ACCESS or paratransit has to be scheduled at least a day in advance) unless someone I know is able to drive me where I need to go. And another question I have (since I no longer live in Seattle) - are you able to hail cabs in Seattle now? When I lived there 2002-2007, you had to call a cab, one could not be hailed. To be fair, even as a disabled person I have successfully managed to get a cab in Seattle twice (in the years between 2011 and 2013), without calling, once outside of Neumo's where the cab was parked at the gas station and once on the street by Pike Place Market when my able bodied friend stopped the cab and got it for me. At least 3X I've been in New York since becoming disabled and was able to successfully hail a cab every time I was there (at least 6 times). I was traveling with non-disabled people, though, who did the managing of my mobility aids - the taxi drivers did not. I experienced more hassle and problems with taxi drivers hailed in NYC when I lived there (1998-2002) as an able bodied person, because I lived in Brooklyn and taxi drivers would often refuse to go to Brooklyn (despite it being against the law to do so). At least with a taxi, I had taxi court where I could file a complaint against a driver (who had a medallion number) and get some justice when mistreated. Uber and Lyft offer no such process.

Yep. Rapey McRaperson needs to be outed on every personal web site and at every opportunity. Women need to know that he is a rapist and that he uses drugs and deceit to commit his rape crimes. This is not a matter of this man not being guilty. We need to believe the women who said this man raped them. We need to make sure that men and women are doing everything they can to make sure this man does not rape again. He will. He is absolutely set on it. He doesn't care. He is going on with his business as usual. He needs to be shut down. I SO hope he tries to rape a prostitute that's actually a cop and gets to see the inside of a jail cell - with every woman he's raped giving an impact statement at his trial. All men like this need to be made obsolete and it is men, truly, who need to make rape 100% unacceptable and end it completely.

REALLY sick and tired of males murdering women who refuse them (don't want their sexual attention, break up with them, don't want to go to the prom with them, don't want to give them the time of day, don't want to smile at them, don't want to be bought a drink by them, don't want to talk to them, don't want to "be polite" when men are trying to do something women don't want them to do - carry something for them, do them a favor, show up at their door with a gift, etc. etc. etc. Google "When Women Refuse" and read the litany of never ending murders of women by men who when women refuse to do what the men want them to do. Seriously, it is time for a serious intervention with the males of the species. WOMEN DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING. WOMEN DO NOT EXIST FOR YOU.
