That was lovely. Or at least the first 33 seconds was anyway.
Jun 14 mikethehammer commented on Gold Star Comment of the Day.
Haha -- I saw that comment and gotta admit I chuckled a bit. But then I'm a closeted troll fan, always enjoying his weird, semi-coherent, fragmented thought excretions. I also enjoy when he chimes in on an unpaid intern post to suggest that the intern is overpaid. I know that this qualifies me as an enabler and that I need to quit. I'm working on it.

The use of some simple pronouns here would have lent the letter a far less school-girlish feel. Going back to 2005 is a welcome treat though.
Jun 12 mikethehammer commented on What Do You Think of Locally Grown?.
3 minutes. But then this seems targeted much more directly to a Garrison Keillor style audience. Shit, I could even see ol' Gar K doing some cameo work here once he steps down from the helm at Lake Woebegone.

You know, the great LF just recently made a movie that's relevant and analogous to the situation. I know this because he just happened to mention his new movie approximately 10 seconds into this hard hitting interview.

What types of dots did he want you to connect... was it like a board game or something?
Jun 10 mikethehammer commented on The Inevitable Senescence of KeyArena.
I heard a report on this on NPR this morning. The reason for the upgrade is Philly's gonna make a play to host an upcoming super bowl. And I guess it's not unlike hosting an Olympics in that they see the large infrastructural investment as worthwhile and necessary even for the eventual return said investment would bring (not that I agree with any of that, but unless Seattle is making a play to host an international event of some sort, I'm not sure the situations are wholly comparable.)
Jun 6 mikethehammer commented on Ads in the Motherfucking Sky.
I like @4's photos, but think a big part of their appeal is the nostalgic element to the ads themselves. Again, a matter of taste, but we wouldn't be living and walking amongst those quaintly retro ads, but rather some hideous newfangled 22nd century fluorescent green energy drink promoting hologram.

As far as airplane banners go, I don't mind them too much. Reminiscent of the east coast beach we used to vacation to in my youth.
Jun 5 mikethehammer commented on Today in Amazon News.
They're as bad as fucking Wal-Mart and should be receiving at least a comparable degree of ridicule and criticism.
Jun 4 mikethehammer commented on "If I Had a Slime Like You in the White House, I'd Puke on You!".
Well I just realized I'd conflated Robert & Morton Downey Jr's all these years, apparently thinking the retired talk show host had gone on to an acting career. Kind of a shame, as it made for a pretty cool career arc.
