@11 then how the hell will they power up black lights?

@17: "jerb creator."

The mind reels. (And now Apple will probably copyright it and release an iJerb.)

You mean e e cummings, of course.

@38 FTW. Science works incrementally. Just because we can't leap tall buildings in a single bound doesn't mean we shouldn't have invented staircases.

I don't expect to see any significant human habitation of space in my lifetime (I probably only have about forty years left or thereabouts), but in my kids'? Or grandkids'? You bet.

I'm with @5 on this: frankly, the only reason I've picked up the SW the last couple of years has been for the food-related stuff. If that's eliminated, or at least reduced a lot, my need for the SW is similarly reduced -- and my knowledge of the Seattle food scene is also reduced. Yelp is just too damn unreliable: too many haters dissing places that are actually pretty good, and the easily impressed spooging all over places that are marginal at best.

@14, absolutely - and he subsequently went around shoving his religion in everyone's face, right? Oh, wait, no. He just went on being a mensch.

Come on: if some QB went around prostrating himself to Mecca or hollering "Allahu Akbar!" every time he scored a touchdown, he'd NEVER have made it onto a team in the NFL, no matter how talented he was. The NFL is an incredibly "Christian" league, and it's okay to be a quiet Muslim or Jew or whatever, but the emphasis is on the "quiet". IMO, of course. I can only think of a handful of other such players - maybe six or so?

And wow, look at the crap the Abdullah twins (Hamza and Hussein) took when they had to deal with practices during Ramadan. (just Google it; yikes)

@10 May I propose "queeves".

And yeah, if your sex doesn't make you laugh sometimes, you're missing out. Last time I was in Babeland (ahem) they had a nice poster of rules for sex: one of them was something like "sex can be funny". Live it, and enjoy the laughs along the way.
May 6 Catherwood commented on Ed McClain, "the Real Change Guy".
I will never forget that my son and daughter are, respectively, "little dude" and "cutie-pie". Some of the most memorable people are some of the humblest people. It's a conundrum. So long, Ed: good luck in the next turn of the wheel.

Oh, @4, you know damn well if Tebow was a Muslim he'd never have made it to the NFL, let alone achieved any sort of celebrity there.
May 3 Catherwood commented on Memorial Bike Ride for Lance David.
Great idea, but Ben, unless you mean "it is", you don't mean "it's". Really, you don't. I know it's a small thing, but it sets my teeth on edge.
