commented on What Should I Do With This Drone Someone Bought Me?
It depends on what the FAA says about it. I almost got into a shitload of trouble sending off a candy rocket too far up. They don't tolerate that kind of shit in flight paths. At least I finally have a reason to be happy about living directly under the path of the third runway.
This would also be a good time to invest in tanning salons. No more nude tanning out on my deck.
commented on Driver Who Hit Four Pedestrians Blew Nearly Three Times Over Legal Alcohol Limit, Say Prosecutors
@ 5 He would only be a "mass murderer" if he murdered before, regardless of charges or knowledge.
Not only was this person in the offense, but we have failed at changing his behavior.
@6 The correlation is entirely justified. We have to SHOW that we can drive a car to earn a driver license. We aren't required to do this to possess and use a firearm.
Cars are as dangerous as, if not more so, than firearms. One weapon/one driver; can hurt many.
The real question; "When can society be just as accountable for access to mayhem?"
The legal system did right by this accused. he went out of his way to defy every restriction. However it is only one vehicle.
Stockpiling weapons is a very real issue. No person is a well regulated Militia (notice how the M was capitalized.)
No person should be able to stockpile weapons. Guns are your collecting desire? Every car owner has to register with the state they reside in. Even Jay Leno has to register every car he has in his elevator several story garage.
I have one car and one gun.I am registered. My step dad sold it to me. I paid $600 for a 9mm Glock without scope. He had to register it as a sale. He is still upset that he had to pay state sales tax on it (it was part of the deal, it had to be reported.) I still have MY gun. I haven't bought any rounds. I have 13 bullets in my clip. I hope they will never be emptied.
Why did I buy a gun? I travel alone backing. Sometimes I pack with my sons. Why? Bears? ..no the pot dealers
I pack. It doesn't make me feel good. I pack because: i am in situations that it might happen, and has happened.
We have been attacked by a Roosevelt elk directly next to Yellowstone's Roosevelt lodge. We walked away while a bunch of foreign tourists took pictures. I immediately grabbed and directed my children away. She attacked other tourists. A Gun would have not helped at anytime
I have grabbed my four year old and put him on my neck. We flashed up our jackets. The cougar was just licking a salt deposit from the ocean. Yes my firearm was at ready. Didn't make a difference.
Hiking with a friend? Two men brandished assault weapons on our hike. Once took enough.
The two unarmed woman going for a habitual hike through the forest? Having a firearm would have made a difference.
As many as the remote places I have been, only humans make me feel the need to carry a firearm.
You need to show how to use a firearm. You need to make it unavailable to any person that can't register a national gun check.
A Militia is constitutionalism. Private ownership, without resignation, needs to be regulated and well understood. with the constitution.
I carry a fire arm when camping. It is most likely unnecessary in confrontation. Should I register? Yes, I should. Should it take a license permit test to judge my knowledge of a firearm an the ability to use it safely? Yes.
For all you gun nuts and anti gun nuts; you can provide numbers all you want. I will still pack in the middle of god knows where. Do I pack at home? Fucking no. Seriously are you kidding?
Just like drunk drivers, we need to have a conversation about handling our equipment well. If you can't handle it (mental included) you should not be licensed to have it.
Why the fuck do we have a dui while driving, without a dui for shooting?
This discussion has been raging for a long time now. If you expect your child to pass his/her drivers license exam; then you should expect yourself to pass both the knowledge of an educational and handling of a firearm.
If you want to raise issues about that statement, try loading a black powder rifle in less then 2 seconds.
commented on My Ego Is Too Big for Sam Bellomio
Do Tea-party Republicans and Bellomio think that politics can't depend on facts? It can be worse. The name calling was way over the top. It doesn't matter that it was in parentheses. Your ego has blossomed. If you want anybody to take you seriously, don't name call. Even if it is just, it does shut credibility down. This message is important. Make sure that people don't listen to laughter and derision, instead of reason.
commented on Seattle Ranked 10th in Nation for Horrible Commute Times
As a single mother of two teen age boys, I cannot afford to live in Seattle unless I cram us into a two bedroom apt (I did for several years in the jxn). I can ride my bike faster then drive my car at heavy port times. My children don't fit on my handle bars, in fact they are much bigger then me at this point. And yes they have their own bikes and use them. I drive trolleys for Metro. Like many of the Muni drivers. WE can no longer afford to live in the cities we work. It isn't just those trading a mega mansion for a gas loss.
commented on The Worst Kind of Smoker
@11 and 14
If I share your cigarette for 5 seconds (it is never 5 seconds, always more) I get an asthma attack. Pot smoke does the same to me. Do whatever you want to yourself, but don't do it to me. Obese people don't force food into my mouth.
commented on Gun Nuts Just Getting Nuttier
one cam be charged with a crime when one hits a person with a car. That person can be sued civally for that crime. car insurance is mandatory in most states.
commented on Biden or Clinton in 2016?
Why not nancy pelosi? Most public opinion hates congress. When she was majority leader she definitely carried her brass well. She can run on the platform that she gets shit done. If she runs against Chris Christie, her record would prove better then his. Republicans have this bad habit about nominating on seniority. Christie doesn't have a chance. If he loses 50 pounds and runs as an independent, he definitely could skew the election, much like ron paul.
