Alot of the promoters around the hill are just kids who know people. Not a lot of professionalism executed around venues, for instance, one venue completely lacking a sound guy. Monday night tends to be "locals only" night with many of the weekend bartenders, service industry, musicians having the night/next day off. Monday night shows CAN work well, and could go late, but no one tries to take them seriously. "Lets get drunk and play music at a bar" only works for the first year of your musical "career". then people get bored of your shitty drunk guitarist fucking up.
