It depends on where you were, dear IA, it's most probable that your first responders were volunteers in an organization funded primarily by personal and corporate donations. for example, Seattle Mountain Rescue.

I'm with EricaP here, inasmuch as a reactionary DTMFA is a bad idea. yes, the guy is an ass. but no one is perfect, and people can change for the better. I think being an ideologue is a recipe for disappointment. They're already eyeball-deep in a relationship, with kids, so an angry separation and lawsuit or whatever is hard on everyone. But yes, this relationship, its foundation, and all expectations need to be reworked and more explicit. there's a lot of work to be done by both of them.

it's also possible, when puking your guts out, to give yourself a hemorrhoid, which can make your butt hurt, and then it can get irritated and bleed a little.
maybe eliminate that possibility before saying anything else?

oh fer cryin' out loud. I wish more people would read the details of studies, and take some time to understand statistics and what R-squared means.
that Princeton paper didn't prove anything. the highest R-sq was 0.07, so they couldn't find *any* significant correlation between "preferences of the elite" and "policy outcomes".
granted, it does not disprove the oligarchy claim, and you can continue to believe what you want, but the paper proves nothing.

a whippet is also a ski pole with an ice axe on the handle end, for ski mountaineering.
