Video was still working for me around midnight.

@1 Mostly likely! But in this case was estimating the age of the readership of the kids who might subscribe to these services - I can't imagine many 40+ yr olds bothering with any of these services.

The store planted the pit on Earth Day. I remember when there were trees in them pits, before the powers of ValVil had them cut down so their signs could be seen. There was also a cluster of trees on the regrade slope between the street (11th) and the VV parking lot, but those too were cut down so the south facing VV signs could be seen. Classic doublespeak from a corporation which prides itself on being environmental. UGH

@6 I have HESHER TENDENCIES!! Wait, Serisouly, you know Hesher is Metalhead's older brother, right?!

@8 I think that already happened in the 80s w/Hair Metal - I can't return to the '80s. I can't grow my hair out, not again!

@11 I'd love to - if I had more room. Also, sadly, Slog scroll rolls past real fast so it's hard to get too long winded as the posts get gone so quickly.

FUCK YEAH, thanks man!! I have that Five Empressions 45, but I'd never heard Susan Maughan's version.

@2 North Carolina! Weird, right? But there were real live DJs then, so I reckon they had some freedom to play whatever, like, once or twice a day,

@2 ill never tell!! heh

@7 the clips in the expanded bit work. Thanks tho' for not clicking through.

@10 - Humble Pie, DUH (It rates against the Nick Ashford version of "Don't Need.") I def dig HP as a rural group, the Immediate label stuff - heavy on Frampton, and the lil Stevie Marriott boogie is great too, but by the mid-70s Thunderbox & Street Rats it was over. Sadly, you might be shocked how old I am.

BREAKING: A statement from Tom Petty HIMSELF!

About the Sam Smith thing. Let me say I have never had any hard feelings toward Sam. All my years of songwriting have shown me these things can happen. Most times you catch it before it gets out the studio door but in this case it got by. Sam’s people were very understanding of our predicament and we easily came to an agreement. The word lawsuit was never even said and was never my intention. And no more was to be said about it. How it got out to the press is beyond Sam or myself. Sam did the right thing and I have thought no more about this. A musical accident no more no less.

THERE YOU GO, guys! The similarity was total coincidence.

Gosh you guys, I heard SOMETHING, but it wasnt enough to make me confuse the songs. Some times vaguely similar sounding bits just dont always tie things together in my brain (funny that means to a few of you punters that I can't hear), pop/rock is finite so to have a forgiving ear I'd think would be encouraged (tho I'll NEVER forgive Zep for their stock rip of the Small Faces). Or, perhaps, maybe Im guilty of just not having the ears for Petty. He certainly is way down the "I care" ladder. (sigh) In fact, I was once kicked out of a Supersuckers for replacing a Tom Petty record with an Otis Redding album.

@13 - I had no idea Lynne did that! Damn.
