Oh, that poor guy! I have never pitied a LW's spouse more than I do this one. What a horrible mistake to marry THAT mess of crazy. Wow.
Apr 17, 2014 RTam commented on Looks Like Your Stupid E-Cigarettes....
I'm with @18, I tried quitting a hundred times in a hundred different ways. I finally tried e-cigs 3 years ago and haven't had a regular cigarette since. I don't "smoke" at people's homes or other non-smoking areas and I certainly don't blow it in anyone's face. I don't stink like I used to and I'm not endangering anyone else's health. Maybe I look like a hipster tool when I suck on my little battery and it lights up, but for me, it's better than the alternative.

Sucks though when you can't oppress people on a whim anymore, I can kind of see why they're so mad.
Mar 5, 2014 RTam commented on Moonie Times Comes Out Against Your Wedding Cake's "Sexual Proclivities".
I'm still trying to figure out how saying you're getting married announces your sexual proclivities. Unless I go into detail, you don't know if I like it in the ass, in the mouth, frotting only, with whips and chains, or if we're asexual and just cuddle.

This right wing obsession with butt sex is just insane.

@15 I'm trying to figure out how Dan is abusing his journalistic right to free speech here.

Are you saying that the guy is NOT a complete idiot and unworthy of a firearm license after trying to clean a loaded gun and shooting not only an innocent bystander, but himself?
Feb 25, 2014 RTam commented on Closeted Bisexual Complains About Bisexual Invisibility.
@39 - I'm sort of in the same boat. I know I'm bi-sexual because I am attracted to more women than just Angelina Jolie, but I'm more frequently attracted to men - and the fact is that I date so rarely that people would be less surprised if I came out as asexual. But since I've always been a vocal ally, I feel like I'd be eyerolled out of the room as a wannabe if I "came out" in any way other than a casual mention when the topic comes up with friends (which it does and I have).

So while I'd certainly announce my bi-sexuality to all and sundry if I started dating a woman, the fact that I'm more likely to date men (if anyone) makes me feel like saying anything would paint me as the girl that makes out with other girls at parties for attention (which I don't). I just don't think it would make a difference in the world.
Feb 20, 2014 RTam commented on It Could Soon Be Legal For Satanists to Discriminate Against Christians in Arizona.
@16 - True, to a point. "Love all, serve all" would be a good sign for non-bigoted companies and wouldn't offend the Christianists. The ones who do wish to discriminate though should have to make it clear so that they can be avoided. To not post such a thing is just asking for a lawsuit, it may be "legal" to discriminate if they get their way, but surely humiliating people that walk through the door because they aren't aware could be cause for action.

Seriously, none of this would have happened if those awful fucking bakeries would have just posted some anti-gay sign on the wall. Nothing illegal about it and the gays and fair-minded citizens would have avoided the place like a plague.

I stopped shopping at a place once that had Fox News blaring on the TV set (it was retail, not a sports thing). They were showing who they are and what they support, and by leaving, so was I. There was no altercation at all.

Feb 11, 2014 RTam commented on Frank Bruni on Straight Guys, NFL Officials, Anonymous Players, and Others Freaking Out About Michael Sam Because—OMFG—Gay Dude In the Locker Room!.
As a woman, if I were naked in a locker room with a bunch of men (and in a magical world where I did not fear for my safety in that situation), I would say something like "HEY! Eyes up here!" and laugh. Or "Sweet, huh?" The fact is that just being naked in front of someone that might appreciate the view is nothing to be concerned about. The only real concern is that the person would assault you. And I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that most football players are NOT afraid that they won't be able to defend themselves.

As Scott Fujita said (paraphrased), "Sexual harassment is illegal. Take it to HR if lines are crossed." It's really as simple as that.

I still can't figure out how they haven't been shut down as a destructive cult yet. Seriously, the SeaOrg? Straight up child abuse.
