commented on The Viaduct Is Still Sinking—A Full-On Stranger Panic Attack
Re: all the comments about the waterfront Seattle project that are seemingly trying to tell us what there will be (a trolley? A highway? No transit?): you know this information is really easily obtained, right? Because you're wrong. During rush hour, metro will run fifty buses an hour on Alaskan way. It's going to be a transit corridor. And the trolley is gone, forever. Look at the designs, they are publicly available (and you can attend public comment meetings if you don't like it: this comment thread is not where you get your needs met).

@3, the distinction that the sinking is not caused by the digging is important to note for the sake of clarity here. The sinking is certainly caused by the overall project, but since digging was stopped they really had to clarify that it wasn't the direct cause.

All of those buildings have survived big earthquakes with major settling, they're going to survive this megaproject. Yes, it was a bad idea. But it's not Boston. It's going to be ok, guys.
There are engineers that "make the call" if the viaduct isn't safe enough to keep open. Who cares that they aren't named. If I were an engineer, I sure wouldn't want to be interviewed by such obviously religious angst against my work.

commented on Is Vaping Really Safer Than Smoking?
"vaporizers that utilize oils deliver higher doses of THC than vaporizers that utilize dry plant."
You forgot to take into account that vaporizers that use oils burn an almost invisible amount of oil, while vapes that burn plant material use a bug hunk. One puff on either should be, give or take, about the same dose.

I really want to get behind this, and it seems like you have your head screwed on straight, Goldy, but I don't really get your format. It's a good rebuttal in a debate if that is what you're going for, but as a stand-alone piece it just seems argumentative and lacks nuts and bolts information about the different propositions.
