@1, 8: I don't know, I've found that having conversations and writing out and thinking about things helps me both really clarify why something is a problem and also what steps I can/should/will/do take to address it. And conversations help sort of spread the seeds of change. I think you are treating this article like it's the end result when it's more part of a process.
14: It cracks me up that you are agreeing to 5/8 that the problem is people just writing and not doing things, and to solve that problem you refer them to a blog :)

commented on Pastor Mark Driscoll Taught That Women Were Primarily Created to Be a "Home" for the Penis
@39- Maybe (maybe?) I'd be inclined to take your view of things (this was Mark Driscoll's attempts to use a metaphorical language that young men can relate to to discuss monogamy) if there weren't literally reams and reams of Mark on record saying all manner of other incredibly misogynistic and gross things. However, taken in context, this just points to more that in misogynistic and gross, wrapped up in a thin veneer of acceptability in a "means to an ends" kind of way. (Which is also gross.)

commented on Richard Dawkins Is Cool With "Mild Pedophilia”
Well, to be more precise, proving that humans of all stripes and creeds can be pretty screwed up in certain areas. What is crazy weird to me about this is that I feel I've read the exact same thing from a Catholic cardinal a few months back. Now I'm wracking my brain to find the article, because how weird would it be if *this* is what R.Dawkins has in common with the Catholic Hierarchy?

commented on You Don't Know Either, Amanda Palmer
Well, again, I feel empathy for Dzhokar and I feel grossed out by Amanda's poem. Somehow, I don't feel I'm giving into mob mentality over this one, and I don't feel like I'm betraying my empathy for Dzhokar and his brother over not liking this particular poem. In fact, I'd say not liking this poem is pretty incidental to my response to anything that happened in Boston.
