SL Letter of the Day: Did You Think I Was Going To Tell You Not To Come Out? (PLUS: Help Free Kate!).
Already signed the petition. Can't join the facebook page because I am a Neandertal who doesn't have facebook.
@1, That is exactly what the younger girl's parents are having her prosecuted for. Laws vary, but there should be minimum age limit differences for statutory. Since they are less than 3 years apart in age, just turning 18 shouldn't cause their relationship to turn into a crime. But this has happened before, ruining people's lives because of vindictive parents.
Too bad there isn't some skeleton in the parents' closet that they can use to get them to back down.

The Second Round of the NHL Playoffs Starts Today!.
I am beyond ecstatic that my Sharks represented so well against Vancouver. Go Sharks! They made some very successful moves at the trade deadline, and along with putting Burns on offense has made a huge difference. Problem is, this combination hasn't been together long enough to make a good prediction for the future. This series against LA will tell me a lot about their staying power.
That said, if I had to go with how the teams have played this season, the final will be the Blackhawks and Penguins. If that happens, I will be very unhappy for the Sharks, but would reluctantly root for Chicago.

SL Letter of the Day: I'm Out.
It can be taken the wrong way, as the letter writer found out. If you are close enough friends with the lady you are "insulting", then I don't see any harm. But if you are in a large enough group that other people you don't know so well could hear and take insult? Probably not the best choice of words. Women get so damn much crap dumped on us, that it gets pretty discouraging sometimes. We live in a pretty negative environment anyway, so it never hurts to err on the side of not calling a woman "cunt". That said, as long as it was said in a way to get a laugh, not anger, I wouldn't be pissed.

Marriage Equality Scores a Big Win in Minnesota.
@22, Re-allowing SSM in California should do that! Sounds like a great spreadsheet. Somebody should post it in a corner of Slog or something, so we could see the current totals at a glance. Post a US map with pro equality states in purple or something, and the spreadsheet right below it.
